The Clause 13.1.2 (amended on 30.06.2023) of Ph.D. Regulation reads


A minimum of four-course works of 12 Credits relevant to the area of research and
offered under any approved PG programme of the University shall be recommended
by the Doctoral Committee. But the scholars shall not have undergone such course
works in their PG programme /M.S. (By Research). The Doctoral Committee may also
consider recommending relevant PG-level Online Courses from NPTEL (up to a
maximum of 4 courses) as course works prescribed above (Refer to Clause 13.1.2 of
Ph.D. Regulations 2020). The courses which are evaluated and certificates with
grades/marks issued alone will be considered.

Further, the Clause 13.1.4 of Ph.D. Regulation reads


The scholar shall attend classes along with PG students and will be evaluated in the
same relative grading scale of the course work.

However, some autonomous institutions are found violating the said clauses of Ph.D.
Regulations. The course works of the scholar which do not satisfy the above requirements
will not be considered for granting the confirmation of provisional registration. The course
work should be strictly from the curriculum of the PG courses or PG level NPTEL
courses only. The Supervisors and the respective Heads of the Departments/Head of the
Institutes shall ensure this before forwarding the documents to the O/o Centre for Research.

Further, the following documents shall be submitted along with the Confirmation documents
with immediate effect.
1. In case of autonomous affiliated instutitions, a bonafide certificate from the
Controller of Examinations concerned confirming Clause 13.1.4 duly forwarded by
the respective Head of the Department & Head of the Institute.
2. The Time-table copy of the PG class in which the scholar attended the course duly
approved by the Controller of Examinations & Head of the Institute to be submitted
along with the list of PG students who attended the course.
3. The work load of the faculty who offered the course duly approved by the Head of
the Department and endorsed by the Head of the Institute.
