“Very good!”

4. Classroom Rules

to me okay?”
Okay, good, this are my rules:

 Listen carefully when the

teacher is talking.
 Raise your hand if you want to
speak.
 Be kind and respectful
to your classmates.
 Take care of your things and
keep our classroom clean.

“Understand, children?”
“Yes, teacher “

1. Motivation
A. Activating Prior
Knowledge (Minds & Moods) “Now before we proceed to our (Students will stand up).
lesson, everyone please stand up
because we will play a game.
This game called “Water Moves
Game”, here are the instruction:

 When I say ‘Float’, you will

stand up.
 When I say ‘Sink’, you will sit
down.
 When I say ‘Absorb’, you will
hug your partner.
 When I say ‘Decay’, you will
slowly sit down like you are
melting.

“But remember, you should be quick

and careful! If you make a mistake,
you are out of the game. The last one “Yes, teacher!”
standing will be our winner!
Ready?”

“Alright, let’s begin! Float!... Sink!... (Students will sit, stand, hug the

make it exciting.Until one students

B. Establishing Lesson “Children did you enjoy the game?” Yes teacher.

“What else?” “Just like what she/he said it is

about the materials that are

the water.”

“Correct! So now I have here a “Yes teacher”.

Understanding (Tasks & will divide you into 4 groups. Each use:
Thoughts) group will receive the same set of
objects. Your task is to find out
which objects float, sink, absorb
water, and decay in water.”

Here are the instructions:

1. Choose a Leader.
The leader will guide the group.

2. Get Your Materials.

Each group will have:

 Pebbles
 Cotton balls
 Coin
 Banana peel
 Sponge
 Plastic bottle
 Metal spoon
 Straw
 Stick
 Iron nail

3. Do the Experiment.

 Place each object in the

container with water.

 Watch carefully what happens.

4. Record the Results.

Write down what you saw:

 Did it sink, float, absorb water,

or will it decay?

5. Group Sharing.

After the experiment, one member of

the group will share your results
with the class.

“Yes teacher.”
"Is that clear, children?”

“Very good! Work together, observe

carefully, and listen to your
leader. You only have 5 minutes to do
that”
D. Making Generalization “Class, let’s talk about what you
(Abstraction) discovered in our experiment.”

“What did you observe when we “Some floated, some sank,

some started to decay teacher.”

“Correct! Which objects floated on “The plastic bottle and leaf

“ Very good! Why do you think they “Maybe because they are light

“Right! Which objects sank to the “The pebbles and coin sank.

“Then what happened to the sponge “They absorbed the water. They

“Why do you think some materials “Because they are soft and have

“The stone or plastic has no
holes so they don’t absorb.”

“What happened to the bread or fruit “It became soft and started to

“Why do you think food and natural “Because they are from plants

Ⅳ. EVALUATING LEARNING
A. Evaluating Learning “Okay class, let’s have a short quiz Yes teacher.
(Tools for about our lesson. Get your paper and
Assessment) write your name and the date. Are
you ready?”

A. Multiple Choice. Encircle the Answer:

correct answer.
A. Multiple Choice
1. Which of these objects will float
in water? 1. c. Plastic bottle cap
a. Stone
b. Coin 2. b. Coin
c. Plastic bottle cap
3. a. Sponge
2. Which of these objects will sink in
water? 4. a. Bread
a. Leaf
b. Coin 5. c. All objects absorb water
c. Styrofoam

3. Which material will absorb water?

a. Sponge
b. Metal spoon
c. Plastic toy

pass your papers to the front.”

“That is all for today, see you next “Goodbye teacher”

meeting children. Goodbye and good
bless you all!”
B. Teacher’s Remarks The integration of values such as
(Annotation) cooperation, respect, and use of
descriptive words during the group
activity was effective. The learners
showed teamwork while conducting
the experiment and used the correct
terms (float, sink, absorb, decay) in
sharing their observations. This
helped them not only understand the
science concept but also practice
good behavior and communication
skills.

C. Teacher’s Reflection The teaching process went well and

(Gains) the flow of the lesson was effective.
The learners actively joined the
motivation game and worked
together during the experiment,
which made the class lively. They
showed cooperation and respect
while doing the activity and were
able to classify the materials
correctly using the terms float, sink,
absorb, and decay. I am very happy
with the result because the students
enjoyed the lesson and learned at the
same time. If I will teach this lesson
again, I will gladly use the same
process since it was successful in
helping the learners understand and
apply the concept in a fun and
meaningful way.
