Had the joy of code reviewing an obviously vibe-coded pull request at work today. I sent it back asking for clarity on how it implemented access control. Got a comment back pointing me to a line of code that called the relevant function in our shared library. Sent it back again pointing out that, while it did call the function, it never checked the result.

It bugs me every time someone non-technical, from a completely different line of work, says you no longer need to learn to code because you can "build" an app, website, or server in minutes with AI. Nobody performs chiropractic neck manipulations based on AI tips, nobody does professional construction work, or performs surgery with AI... right? (At least, I hope not.) And people usually understand that. So why can't they grasp that you still need to be a professional and actually know what you're doing, with or without an AI? You wouldn't tell a friend to "just do it" when they a) have no idea what you’re asking, and b) don't know how to do it.
Every line of code is a liability. It's a dangerous world right now, with people mindlessly throwing more and more junk online. Everyone will get hacked eventually.

I’ve finally retired the old cron + sh setup for the weather bots. It served us well, but it had a major flaw: if I rebooted the server while it was posting, the job just died halfway. If the server was down during a scheduled slot, the forecast was lost forever.
So, I wrote a custom Python daemon to run inside the FreeBSD Jails.
- It’s stateful now. If a crash happens at city 15 of 50, it resumes exactly there on reboot.
- If the server naps/is rebooting during a scheduled run, the bot realizes it missed a slot and runs immediately upon waking up.

Anyone know anything about solidagent.io?
They appear to be an EU hosted AI agent - in the sense that they have the trained models on their own platforms, rather than using an API so presumably queries etc stay on their servers.
Their statements of #privacy etc look good and the test queries I posted (on quite complex #coding problems) were very impressive, but I don't think it's strictly FOSS otherwise.
Would be happy to hear if others have good/bad experience with them as they seem quite new.

This release adds features that were requested during the #DutchProxmoxDay2025 which was hosted by our friends Tuxis (tuxis.nl). I'm hearing your feedback and all your feedback from the community and user base is important to me, so let me introduce the following new features:
* Add an optional memory balancing threshold
* Add affinity/anti-affinity support by pools
* Add pressure (PSI) based balancing for memory, cpu, disk
* Pressure (PSI) based balancing for nodes
* Pressure (PSI) based balancing for guests
You can simply upgrade via APT or by obtaining the latest Docker/Container image. PSI based balancing (still in beta) requires Proxmox VE 9 or greater.
