Comments provide a narrative way for Analysts to discuss a top-level object (TLO).

When writing a comment, you can also use hashtags and reference usernames. For example, a comment might look like:

Hey @analyst, I think we might be dealing with an #evil Actor here!

We parse out hashtags and allow you to click on them to find other comments Analysts have made with a similar hashtag. This is a great way to engage in threads of discussion about similar content and bring them together.

We also parse out username references. If we detect a username reference we will make a link out of it so you can see other comments made by that user. Also, referencing usernames in a comment will generate a Notification to that user that they've been mentioned in a comment.

Comments can be modified if they are being modified by the author. You can also reply to specific comments.

There is a Recent Activity feature in CRITs which allows you to view all of the comments being made across the system about content you have access to. If you are on the Recent Activity page for today, then it will check every minute for new comments and auto-update for you. This is a great way to stay up-to-date on comments without having to manually hunt them down.
