Final Demo Lesson Plan q4 Week 5

The document outlines a detailed lesson plan for a mathematics class on basic concepts of probability. It includes objectives, topics, concepts, and procedures such as reviewing previous lessons, presenting new material, discussing concepts, and providing examples and activities for students to practice and demonstrate their understanding of experiments, outcomes, sample spaces, and events. The lesson aims to help students understand and classify these key probability concepts.

D.Objectives
based on the given examples; and
 Appreciate the basic concepts of probability in real-life situation.
II. CONTENT
A. Topic Basic Concepts of Probability
Probability. Measures the likelihood or chance that an event will
occur. Events cannot be predicted with total certainty. We can say,
“How likely they are to happen.”
Experiment. It is a procedure (or process) from which results are
observed or recorded.
Trial. It is an instance of an experiment (the number of times an
experiment is repeated).
B. Key Concepts
Outcome. The result of a single trial of an experiment.
Sample Space. The set of all possible outcomes of an experiment. It is
usually denoted by the letter S. Sample space can be written using the
set notation, { }.
Event. The set whose elements are some outcomes of an experiment (a
subset of the sample space).

purpose for the describe the new topic for today. Oftentimes, the decisions in life are
lesson made under conditions of it. These are the probabilities of life. The
branch of mathematics that deals with uncertainty is probability.
Explain to them that this lesson will give them an understanding of the
key concepts of probabilities, and they will learn to classify an
experiment, outcome, sample space, and event.
Before starting the new lesson, the students will play a game. The game
is called "Word Scrabble." In this game, each student will answer the
given scrabbled words in 1 minute. This is a positive competition where
each student will compete to go first in solving the words. Whoever type

This activity will allow the students to realize their own definition or
understanding of probability. (Provide a friendly classroom atmosphere
which would encourage the students to answer the given activity.

Questions:
1. Are those words familiar to you?
2. What topic comes to your mind when you see the words in the
illustration?
3. Based on the illustration, how do you define probability?

**Possible answers:
1. Maybe YES/NO
2. Probability
3. Probability is the possibility of occurrences, chance, or likelihood of
events in a man’s life which can be expressed as a fraction, a decimal or
a percent.

Explain to the class that the activity they did is part of the topic for
today’s lesson, which is the possibility of occurrences of events in a
man’s life, which can be expressed as a fraction, a decimal, or a
percent.

Enlighten them that this lesson will give them an understanding of the
key concepts of probabilities, and they will learn to distinguish an
experiment, outcome, sample space, and event.

This time, discuss and explain to the class the terminologies such as
probability, experiment, trial, outcome, sample space, and event. Let
the students comprehend these terms because this will help them

D. Discussing New understand more about probability.
Concepts and
Practicing New Skills Probability measures the likelihood or chance that an event will occur.
#1 Events cannot be predicted with total certainty. We can say, “How likely
they are to happen.”

Experiment is a procedure (or process) from which results are

observed or recorded.

Trial is an instance of an experiment (the number of times an

experiment is repeated).

Outcome is the result of a single trial of an experiment.

Sample Space is the set of all possible outcomes of an experiment. It is

usually denoted by the letter S. Sample space can be written using the
set notation, { }.

Practicing New Skills
#2

Event is the set whose elements are some outcomes of an experiment

satisfying some given conditions. (a subset of the sample space).

If students have understood the previous concepts discussed, proceed

to provide more examples to the class with the following concepts on
probability. Students must learn how to classify an experiment, a trial,
an outcome, sample space, and an event based on the given examples.

This time, provide an activity to determine whether students have

understood the lesson or not. Let the students answer the next activity,
in which they will complete the table according to its correct placement.

***To ensure students mastery of the lesson another activity shall be

conducted.

In order for students to relate and connect more with the concepts of
probability, let the students answer this real-life problem. Instruct the
students that they will be given 2 minutes to complete the table, and
after answering it, someone will present his answer in the class, so that
