TOPIC : CRIME
Prison is the common way in most countries to solve the problem of crime. However,
a more effective solution is to provide people a better education. Do you agree or
disagree ?
In recent years, the popularity of prison sentences ( bản án tù) acts as a vital way to deal
with the crime problem. While I admit that such a solution can be beneficial to some
extent, I would argue that education can be considered as a more crucial means to curb
illegal actions ( hành động vi phạm pháp luật )
It is understandable imprisonment policy (chính sách bỏ tù) is one of importance to
citizen’s safety. To begin with, prison is regarded as the place to keep criminals. To
ensure social security, serious law-breakers such as cold-blooded murders or rapists have
to be behind bars (bỏ tù ) for their heinous actions (hành động tàn ác ). If these offenders
are in prison, they will not be able to socialize with other people in society and hardly
pose a potential threat to law-abiding citizens (ng dân tuân theo pháp luật). In addition,
severe prison sentences ( bản án tù nghiêm khắc) can act as a deterrent to offenders (hoạt
động như 1 sự ngăn cản đối với ng phạm tội). When having a better understanding of the
consequences of committing crime such as loss of freedom, living a miserable life in jail
and separation from their beloved ones. Those who are having the intention of doing
illicit actions would reconsider their ideas and dispel ( từ bỏ nó) them
However, education can serve as a more essential remedy to the root of crimes (nguồn rễ
tội phạm). The first one is that offenders will be rehabilitated ( cải tạo) thanks to
education. It can crackly contribute to improving the awareness of law-breakers and
equipping them with vocational skills (kĩ năng nghề nghiệp). Simultaneously, they can
have the ability to find a decent job and support for themselves after being released which
might in turn (sau này) mitigate types of crime including robberies, burglaries.
Furthermore when citizens, especially youngsters are well educated about the damage
that crime would trigger to the community and themselves, the decline in crime rate
would be achievable. This could also lead to a form civilized society ( xã hội văn minh)
later on
In conclusion, while imprisonment can be a necessary factor in tackling crime in some
aspects. I hold the view that education is a far greater action such as providing them with
job skills and educating other inhabitants the consequences of crimes
