all the
difference. Let’s break down the storage and input/output devices that will make this
lab a success.
1.Storage Devices
Storage devices are like the "memory" of the lab—they store all the important files,
software, and projects. Here are two types I’d include:
a) Solid-State Drives (SSDs)
What They Do: SSDs store data and allow quick access to files, programs, and
the
operating system. They’re much faster than traditional hard drives.
Storage Capacity: I’d go for SSDs with 256 GB to 1 TB of storage, depending
on how much
space students need for their projects.
Why Include Them?: SSDs are super fast, which means computers will boot
up quickly, and programs like video editing software or coding environments
will run smoothly. No one likes waiting for a slow computer!
b)External Hard Drives
What They Do: These are portable devices that provide extra storage for
backing up files or transferring large amounts of data.
Storage Capacity: I’d choose external drives with 1 TB to 5 TB of space.
Why Include Them?: Students working on big projects, like video editing or
graphic design, often need extra space. External drives are also great for
backups, so no one loses their hard work if something goes wrong.

2.Input Devices

a) Keyboards

data, keyboards are a must. They’re the most basic but essential tool in any lab.
b)Computer Mice
What They Do: Mice help students move the cursor, click, and interact with
programs.
Why Include Them?: For tasks like graphic design or video editing, a mouse is
way more
precise than a touchpad. It’s also easier to use for everyday tasks.
c)Graphics Tablets
What They Do: These let students draw or design directly on a tablet, and
the work shows up on the computer screen.
Why Include Them?: For graphic design or animation students, a graphics
tablet is a game- changer. It’s like drawing on paper but in digital form, making
it perfect for creative projects.

3.Output Devices
Output devices show or produce the results of students’ work. Here are three key
ones:
a) Monitors
What They Do: Monitors display everything from text to videos to designs.
Why Include Them?: A good monitor is essential for all tasks. For graphic
design and video editing, a high-resolution screen with accurate colors is a
must. It also reduces eye strain
during long work sessions.
b)Printers
What They Do: Printers turn digital files into physical copies.
Why Include Them?: Students often need to print assignments,
reports, or project materials. A reliable printer ensures they can submit
their work on time.
c)Speakers
What They Do: Speakers play sound, whether it’s music, dialogue, or sound
effects.
Why Include Them?: For video editing or multimedia projects, speakers are
essential. They let students hear their work clearly and make sure the audio
quality is just right.
Scenario 2:
You are a consultant hired by a small startup company. The company is
setting up a new office and needs advice on what system software and
application software they should install on their computers. Your task is to
recommend the appropriate software for their needs and explain the

As a consultant for a small startup, it’s important to recommend the right
system and
application software to ensure smooth operations and productivity. Below are
my
recommendations, along with explanations of why they are essential for the
company’s
success.
1.System Software
System software is the backbone of any computer system. It manages hardware,
software, and other resources to ensure the computer runs efficiently. For the
startup, I recommend the following two types of system software:
a) Operating System (OS)
Purpose: The operating system is the core software that manages hardware
resources, runs applications, and provides a user interface. Examples include
Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Why It’s Necessary: Without an OS, the computer cannot function. It allows
employees to interact with the hardware, run programs, and manage files. For
a startup, I
recommend Windows 11 or macOS because they are user-friendly, widely
supported, and compatible with most business applications.
b)Device Drivers
Purpose: Device drivers are software that allow the operating system to
communicate with hardware devices like printers, scanners, and graphics
cards.
Why It’s Necessary: Device drivers ensure that all hardware components
work properly. For example, without a printer driver, the computer cannot send
print jobs to the printer. Keeping drivers updated is crucial for avoiding
hardware malfunctions and ensuring smooth operations.

How It Helps the Company:

b)Trello or Asana (Project Management Software)
Primary Function: Trello and Asana are project management tools that
help teams organize tasks, track progress, and collaborate on projects.
How It Helps the Company:
o Task Management: Employees can create task lists, assign
responsibilities, and set deadlines.
o Collaboration: Team members can share updates, upload files, and
communicate within the platform.
o Productivity: These tools provide a clear overview of ongoing projects,
