Conducting Competency Assessment for Pipe Fittings NCII

Yesterday I visited the assessment center and found out that all equipment, tools and
materials that we will be using for this assessment are complete, functional and in good
condition.
Today, I received the following documents 10 copies of attendance sheets, 10 copies of
the competency assessment result summary, 10 sets of rating sheets and 10 copies of
specific instruction for the candidates and I copy of the assessors' guide.
Also, I have here your accomplished SELF ASSESSMENT GUIDE, so this is an
indication that you know and can perform all the units of competencies for this
qualification.
 GREETINGS
Good morning candidates. Welcome to RENET-TCI your accredited assessment center
for FOOD AND BEVERAGE SERVICES NC II.
My name is JOY C. RELLON. I am an ACCREDITED COMPETENCY ASSESSOR FOR
FOOD AND BEVERAGE SERVICES NCII. I have here my Id with my accreditation
number. And also my appointment letter coming from the AC manager of this institution.
Proving that I am an accredited assessor for this assessment.

 ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
Let me acknowledge first the presence of Ms. Ella Openiano our AC Manager and Mr.
Elmer Vargas, our TESDA REPRESENTATIVE from the TESDA PROVINCIAL OFFICE.
You don't have to worry about their presence, because they are just here to oversee if
the conduct of the assessment is in accordance with the competency assessment
methodologies and procedure. They will not assess you.

 ATTENDANCE
I will now check your attendance, so as I call your name please come forward and
present to me your ADMISSION SLIP and please sign the attendance sheet. Mr. Rico,
please sign the attendance. Now, MR. Rellona Please sign the attendance.

 CONDUCT ORIENTATION AND EXPLAIN CONTEXT AND PURPOSE OF


ASSESSMENT EVIDENCE TO BE COLLECTED
Today I will be administering assessment, so an assessment is a way of collecting
evidence and making judgement whether competency has been achieved. I will be
collecting evidence through DEMONSTRATION and ORAL QUESTIONING. These
assessment methods will help me ensure your underpinning knowledge and skills on
FBS. The Qualification or units of competency to be assessed are the BASIC,
COMMON AND CORE COMPETENCIES. We will just be assessing the core but basic
and the common will be concurrently assessed during the integrating of core
competencies.
 THE CORE WILL BE ASSESS BASED ON THE FOLLOWING:
Prepare the dining area.
Identify tools and materials used for the service.
Fold 10 table napkin
Welcome guests and take and beverage orders.
Welcome guests by the time of their arrival and be able to seat them on the table of
their choice/reserve to them.
Promote food & beverage products.
Properly take the orders using the menu and do suggestive selling.
Provide food and beverage orders to guest.
mention the name of the orders.
Provide room service.
Take room service orders for breakfast for one guest, you can select whether a
breakfast is an American breakfast, French or Filipino breakfast) Make sure you know
how to enter the room for room service and how will serve the food.
Handle guest complain.
Integrate this while you are performing the competency I to 5 All of this assessment will
be within 2 hours 11⁄2 for table service and 30 minutes for room service.

 PERSONAL NEEDS
for your personal needs, the comfort room is located beside the lobby. You can also eat
in our canteen at Ist floor and also does anybody here who has physical difficulty or
health issue such as hypertension or diabetes, please tell me so that I can assist you
later on. Okay? So is there any Muslim here that needs to be excused themselves
during their religious time? If there's please tell me immediately so that I can excuse
you.

 ALLOWABLE OR REASONABLE ADJUSTMENT WHEN APPLICABLE


If you have difficulty in understanding the given instruction please don't hesitate to call
my attention because I am more than willing to explain and translate it for you.

 DO'S AND DON'TS DURING ASSESSMENT


And If you have concerns, clarifications, and questions please raise your hand so that I
can answer and once the assessment has already started please refrain from asking
questions because it's no longer allowed. In addition to that, once the assessment has
already started cellphones are not allowed in the assessment area. Please turn off you
phone and put it in your bag.

 OHS
As we go along with our assessment, please observe safety practices Also when
accidents happen or occur, please call my attention immediately so I can give you first
aid, and when the need arise remember that our first aid kit is located at the right side of
the assessment area. In doing the activity Kindly wear PPE, observe health and sanitary
practices. Observe social distancing and wear your face mask properly.

 ROLE OF ASSESSOR
Me as an assessor my role is just to observe and write down what I have observe
during the assessment BUT as an assessor I have the right to stop the assessment if I
observe any untoward behavior, especially if it can harm the other candidates or it may
result to loss of property or lives.

 RIGHTS TO APPEAL SYSTEM and REASSESSMENT PROCEDURE


After the assessment and you have found to be NOT YET COMPETENT, don't worry
about it, because you can be reassess anytime at your convenience. In case of full
qualification, you need to undergo the entire assessment process again. However, if you
have found to be competent in some areas of the qualification, you have to be
reassessed to the areas of competencies you have found to be NOT YET
COMPETENT. If you have failed 2 consecutive assessment you will be advised to get a
refresher or you can apply for reassessment. Okay? In case you are not satisfied with
the result you can file for an appeal, you can sent your letter to the tesda provincial
office addressed to our TESDA DIRECTOR. OKAY?

 ISSUANCE OF NC
AND if you have found to be COMPETENT, for the issuance of this NATIONAL
CERTIFICATE, you can claim your national certificate 3 working days after the
assessment and you can process it in one day, just bring 50 pesos for the processing
fee and one passport size picture with white background.

 CONFIDENTIALITY OF ASSESSMENT OUTCOMES


With the result of the assessment,we observe confidentiality this is to ensure your
integrity, this result is only made available to the right personnel and to the institution
were you had your actual training. Lastly may I remind everyone that please refrain
giving any information outside regarding the process of the assessment.

 PROVIDE EACH CANDIDATE A COPY OF “SPECIFIC INSTRUCTION TO THE


CANDIDATE"
Now, do you have any question? Since you don't have any question. I will now give you
your specific instruction so please read the instructions carefully, please ask me if ever
you don't understand something. So I may be able to translate or rephrase the
instruction for your convenience.

ASSIGN NUMBERS TO CANDIDATE


Since you do not have any question, I would like to give your numbers. Mr Rico you will
be no. 1 and Mr. Rellona you will be candidate no. 2. Ok so candidate no. I please
proceed to the assessment.

This is our assessment area, here is the station I where you can perform table service
and in this area you will perform the room service.
Please be inform that after this demonstration we will be having an oral questioning.

so I am also satisfied. Over all, I will mark you competent. Congratulations, you may
claim your NC at tesda provincial office 3 working days after today just bring 50 pesos &

according to standard BUT during the taking of orders you did not do upselling and and
suggestive selling also you did not memorize the tools you need to use for service that
is why you run out of time anyway, dont worry because thru constant practice you can
do it by next time, you can watch videos on youtube and print some pictures of tools so
that you can easily recognize it.

for that reason in demonstration I will mark you NOT SATISFACTORY.
-in your oral questioning, you answer all my questions correctly using english language
so I am satisfied. Over all, because of your demonstration I will mark you NOT YET
competent, But dont worry because will still be recieving COC,and you can re-assess
anytime at your convenience and to assessment center of your choice but if you are not
satisfied with my decision you can write a letter of appeal w/n 24 hours just address to
Tesda director,but if you are agree you may affix your sinature here.
