AGGUNETAN VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT GUIDELINES AND GROUND RULES

Aggunetan Sports Complex

I. GENERAL RULES:

A. This volleyball competitions shall be held in accordance with the rules of International
Volleyball Federation (FIVB) 2015-2028 Edition as modified by and or supplemented
by the guidelines stated hereunder.
B. In case of any dispute on the text, the English Version of the latest FIVB Rules
shall prevail.
C. Any unforeseen event not covered by the rules shall be dealt with as follows:
1. Technical question shall be resolved in accordance with the Technical
Guidelines, Rules, and Regulations of Volleyball.
2. Question on Eligibility shall be resolved in accordance with the screening
and eligibility guidelines of SK League Committee.

II. SPECIFIC RULES

1. PARTICIPATING TEAMS

1.1 The volleyball tournament shall be participated by 4 teams, open for amateur and
intermediate players only but each team must have atleast 1 participant from Barangay
Aggunetan. The teams are Red Team, Blue Team, Yellow Team and Green Team.

2. ELIGIBILITY OF PLAYERS
2.1 Players must be residents or former residents of the municipality.
2.2 No ages limit

3. ENTRIES AND TEAM INFORMATION

COMPOSITION OF A TEAM:
A team shall be composed of the following:
1 or more player from Barangay Aggunetan
1 Playing Coach
Other members approved by the Management Committee.
3.1 NO CHANGES IN THE LINE-UP SHALL BE ALLOWED APPROVED BY THE SK League
Committee. 3 CONSECUTIVE AND 5 ALTERNATE ABSENCES ON THE GAME SHALL
BE GROUND FOR DISQUALIFICATION OF PLAYERS. COMMUNICATION OF WHICH
SHALL BE FORWARDED TO THE COMPETITION DIRECTOR OR TOURNAMENT
MANAGERS.

3.2 All participating teams must be present or represented during the Meeting of
Coaches/Team Captains and Officiating Officials; otherwise, the team waives its
right to file protest or complaint on the recent application/interpretation as
agreed upon during the meeting. In this meeting, coaches or their representative
must confirm their team´s participation.
3.3 Each team must submit the list of qualified athletes duly signed by the SK League
Committee.

3.4 BOTH TEAM CAPTAIN AND COACH IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONDUCT
AND DISCIPLINE OF THEIR TEAM MEMBERS AND CROWD CONTROL.

3.5 ONLY TEAM MEMBERS ARE PERMITTED TO SIT ON THE BENCH DURING THE
MATCH AND PARTICIPATE ON THE WARM-UP SESSIONS.

3.6 DRESS CODE SHALL BE ANY SHIRT OR OFFICIAL UNIFORM OF THEIR TEAM. NO
WEARING OF SHORT PANTS, AND SANDALS/SLEEPERS DURING THE MATCH.

3.7 RULES THAT HAVE BEEN EXPLICITLY MODIFIED BY THE REGULATIONS


SHALL SUPERSEDE THE FIVB RULES.

3.8 RULES OF SUCCESSION WILL BE FOLLOWED AS SOON AS THE FIRST GAME


HAS STARTED.

3.9 WALK-OUT FROM GAMES SHALL BE CONSIDERED AS GAME FORFIETED AND


SHALL BE GROUND FOR SUSPENSION and DISQUALIFICATION.

4. HOW TO WIN A SET/MATCH

4.1 All games for Men’s division shall be played on a 2 out of 3 sets from elimination
round, following the Rally Point System. A team which scores twenty- five (25)
points with a minimum lead of two (2) points wins a set. In case of a 24-24 tie, play
is continued until a two point lead is achieved, i.e, 26-24, 27-25; etc. should there
3rd or deciding set, the change side of court shall be at score thirteen (13) and the
team which scores 25 points or points with a minimum lead of two (2) points, wins
a set.
4.2 In the Championship Match, games will be played on a 3 out of 5 sets following the
Rally Point System. A team which scores twenty-five (25) points with a minimum
lead of two (2) points wins a set. In case of a 24-24 tie, play is continued until a two
point lead is achieved, i.e, 26-24, 27-25; etc. should there 5th or deciding set, the
change side of court shall be at score thirteen (13) and the team which scores 25
points or points with a minimum lead of two (2) points, wins a set.

5. MODE/FORMAT OF TOURNAMENT
5.1 This Volleyball Tournament shall adopt the Triple Round Robin Tournament.
5.2 Rank 1 and 2 TEAMS ON EACH participating team will proceed to championship game
while the rank 3 and 4 teams will be battle for 3rd place and 4th place
6. CONDUCT OF COMPETITION

6.1 Referee will be from each team, since this is a friendly competition.
6.2 Referees permitted by SK League Committee will handle the officiating of this
tournament.

6.3 The Rule of Succession in scheduling games in all levels shall apply. Hence, teams
shall be within the vicinity of the court forty-five (45 mins.) to one hour ahead of
their scheduled time of play. Fifteen minutes prior to the start of the match, the
1st referee and the 2nd referee shall conduct the toss coin and game proceedings.
Games shall start as scheduled.

6.4 Players, , including identified team supporter, pointing dirty fingers, use of profane
language or any derogatory remarks addressed to the officiating officials, shall be
warned and repetition of the same offense warrants sanction. The team shall be
sanctioned by loss of service or point against it if the spectator is identified to be
the team supporter.

6.5 At the end of the match, the team captains, shall congratulate and shake hands
with the Referees (a gesture of sportsmanship), sign the score sheet to ratify the
result of the match. (Rule 5.1.3.1)

7. PARTICIPANT´S CONDUCT

7.1 Participants must know the “official volleyball rules” and abide by them.

7.2 Participants must accept Referee´s decision with sportsmanship


conduct, without disputing them;

7.3 Participants must refrain from actions or attitude aimed at influencing the
decision of the referees or covering up the faults committed by their
team.

7.4 Participants must behave respectfully and courteously in the spirit of fair play not
only towards the referee but also towards the officials, the opponent, teammates
and spectators. (Rule 20.2.1)
8. OFFICIAL VOLLEYBALL RULES, UNIFORM, STANDARD EQUIPMENT AND NET HEIGHT

8.1 The competition shall be played in accordance with the FIVB Rules 2025-2028
edition. All necessary interpretations will be made before the competition.

8.2 A team must officially register and declare one (1) or two (2) LIBEROS prior to
its first game or during the Technical Meeting.

8.3 THE LIBERO: The coach has the option to field in any of the LIBEROS.
Replacement of Libero shall be unlimited amongst them.

8.4 PLAYING UNIFORM: The playing uniform must be in conformity with the FIVB
General Regulations. The uniform of the LIBERO must be in contrast with team´s
color. (Rule:4.3.1;19.2).

8.5 STANDARD EQUIPMENT: THE MANAGEMENT RESERVES THE RIGHT TO


DETERMINE THE STANDARDS OF EQUIPMENT TO BE USED IN THE GAMES.

8.6 THE HEIGHT OF THE NET SHALL BE AS FOLLOWS: Men’s – 2.43m;;

9. OFFICIATING OFFICIALS:

9.1 REFEREES JUDGEMENT IS FINAL AND MUST BE RESPECTED.

10. PROTEST/COMPLAINTS

10.1 Protest on eligibility shall be addressed to the Chairman of


Screening/Eligibility Committee.

10.2 Protest on technicality shall be addressed to the Technical Managers.

10.3 No protest will be entertained unless a formal written protest is submitted


within three (3) minutes after the game in question duly signed by the Team
Captain and Coach accompanied with the proof or evidence. The burden of
proof lies on the protester. Failure to submit it within 30 minutes would
mean non-interest on the part of the protesting party to pursue the case;
hence, it shall be considered a nuisance protest. In which case, the team
lodging such nuisance protest shall be given stern warning.

10.4 In case the protest is pursued and the concern player has been found to be
ineligible, the team fielding the ineligible player shall be penalized by forfeiting all the
games where the ineligible player has played in favor of the opponent without
prejudice to punitive sanction such as suspension or disqualification from coaching.
11. DEFAULT/FORFEITURE/WALK-OUT

11.1 THE TEAM SHALL BE GIVEN 15MINS. DEFAULTING TIME DURING THE
SCHEDULED MATCH. A TEAM IS DECLARED DEFAULT AFTER TIME HAS
ELAPSED
(15MINS.) For the Teams which from Far Flung Areas which is prone for flooding or
inability of transportation because of road conditions during rain or any weather
disturbances, Exemption or Excuse will be observed.

11.2 Once a team becomes incomplete, the game shall be declared forfeited in
favor of the opposing team. Furthermore, a team that walks out shall be penalized
by game forfeiture .

12. PROTOCOL

12.1 The Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) protocol shall be adapted.

13. PROLONG INTERRUPTIONS

13.1 Interrupted matches, even if it exceeds the four (4) hours and played in
another venue, match shall continue with the same scores, players and position.
Interrupted set/s shall continue normally, with the scores of completed set/s kept
as played.

14. AWARDING

14.1 TO BE DETERMINED BY THE SK League Committee.

15. MISCELLANEOUS

15.1 ALL MATTERS NOT MENTIONED IN THE REGULATION SHALL BE DECIDED BY SK


League Committee.

16. UNFORESEEN ITEMS

16.1 As regards the specific items not expressly foreseen in this regulation,
the Technical Managers will decide in consultation with the General Rules
and Guidelines contained in the FIVB Rules and Regulations.
