Setting up Router
(to further practice yourself on setting up router. You can visit this site - https://emulator.tp-
link.com/Emulator_TL-WR802NV4(EU)/index.htm)

On here, you can familiarize your flow setting up the router configuration.

DEFAULT GATEWAY:
To setup your router’s configuration, copy the default gateway and paste it on
browser’s link address.
(type “ipconfig” on cmd or Command Prompt and you can see your default
gateway)
Under Network, go to LAN and setup your Router’s IP address and Subnet based on
your assigned IP.

Wait till it reboots, then go to your network connection then disable and enable
your network (if it doesn’t work, pull out the LAN cable on your server’s/client’s
connection and put it back. If that doesn’t work, check your patch panel
connection/keystone/lan cables if theres a problem)
Once rebooted, under Wireless, go to Basic settings and name your router (Name
based on your surname and for WAP based on your name)

After saving, go to Wireless security, and setup your WIFI’s password (use
“Css@12345” as a universal password)

Once saving, you are task to block on of the connection that is connected to your
WIFI’s name
To check the devices connection, under DHCP, go to DHCP Clients List. There, you
can see the devices connected in your WIFI’s name.

To block a device, copy the device MAC Address.

Under Wireless again, go to Wireless MAC Filtering, click Add New

then paste the MAC Address you copied, click save

Click Enable to block the device.

SETTING UP WAP

To setup WAP’s configuration, pull out your ISP’s LAN cable and put it on WAP

On WAP, same thing on router config, you need to change also the WAP’s IP
address (know the WAP’s default gateway)

On WAP, after configuring the WAP’s name/password

You will be present the WAP’s UI
To setup, go to Administration and changed the IP address & Subnet

Once finished, click OK then wait till rebooted. (same thing on router, do the
troubleshoot if theres a connection problem you encounter)

After that, Changed the WAP’s name under your First Name and for the password
user the universal password, click OK and wait till save.
Now for blocking, to check the devices connected to you, go to Bandwidth Control
and there you can see the devices connected to you.

To check, the MAC Address, go to Parental Control

(you can see the device MAC Address under its IP address, in my case since this is a
emulator, there is no wireless connected)
Once you copy the device MAC Address, go to Advanced. From here, paste the
copied MAC Address then click the plus sign on Operation. Then click OK. Now
check the connection of the blocked device.
(Make sure to block the device on “Blacklist”, otherwise it will not be block)

Once finished, put back the ISP’s LAN cable to router and put a LAN cable on WAP’s
connection (WAN) to switch or HUB.
