Social Service Organizations Essay
Today there is a great need for social service organizations. The population of a lot of cities and
countries has grown, creating the need for more shelters, soup kitchens, and so on. Most of these
organizations are church based and community founded. Then there are others that are funded by
federal and state government.
The Durham Rescue Mission is a church based organization. They provide a lot of help and shelter
for the homeless and for low income families. Reverend Ernie C. Mills founded the mission in
1974. The first mission was just a two story house. It has since then grown to be a about the size of
an average church.
The mission is open to the public year round, and does not close its doors. There is always someone

There are a lot of young single mothers out there that have kids and can t provide for them. The
either don t have the know how or just don t have the support group that they need. There are also a
lot of families that have lost everything due to loss of jobs of natural disaster. These people need a
place to stay till they get back on their feet, and they also may need a little family counseling. Then
there is the whole homeless issue, these people have nowhere to go and need food and the bare
necessities like everyone else.
When it comes to things like shelters and helping others there are always some ethical issues
behind them. Then again there are ethical issues behind everything. Here are a couple of them.
Whether or not you are doing the right thing by helping these people. If your motive for doing it
is right, Should they if they are not Christian be subjected to the Christian faith? I believe that it is
the right thing to do. Helping people wherever you can will and always will be the right thing to
do. As far the motive whatever it is, if you are doing the right thing then it is ok with me. The
person that you help is not going too care if you did it just to impress someone. However if you
are not a Christian and you do go into a Christian shelter you had prior knowledge of where you
were going. If you don t like what they are telling about God and you don t want to here it then don
t go back.
The mission it self does a great

Politics and Love in Modern Arabic Literature
Writers serve the role of being conscience of their people and at numerous occasions speak for the
voiceless. Writers enlighten the trapped voices in each and every individual s mind, making them
aware of issues happening in their societies that deal with self identification. They remind us that
we, as individuals, have the choice to make something out of our lives. However, for some reason,
we have embraced uniqueness, difference and specialness to support our identities as individuals
with thoughts and feelings that are worth others time, but failed in the way we live it out. In this
modern Arab world, many writers have blossomed with raging talent. majority of them yearned to
express their visions of their societies and of the human condition by using literary masks and
creating characters that depicted major issues that were faced throughout the Arab world. Some
notable writers are Naguib Mahfouz, AhlamMosteghanemi, NizarQabbani, Mahmoud Darwish,
GhassanKanafani and ZakariaTamir who were able to brilliantly express their visions. They were
able to make connections between their words and the actualities of human conditions; politics,
societies, authorities, power, resistances and movements these are all realities that were conveyed
through the spilled ink of these authors. The stories in Breaking knees are without a shadow of a
doubt entertaining they revolve around a society
The Ottawa Light Rail Transit
The Ottawa Light Rail Transit Project

Introduction:

The roadways of Ottawa, Ontario have been become battered and congested due to the poor
infrastructure of public transit. There have been many proposed temporary short term solutions for
the issue such as toll roads, public transit route optimization and rapid road rehabilitation. But
ultimately, the plan is to implement an expansion to the Ottawa Light Rail Transit (OLRT) system
and widen Highway 417. There are many requirements in order to achieve such a task so, this report
will outline the guidelines of the procurement processes after issuing the Request for Proposal
(RFP) for the OLRT project from the City of Ottawa.

The City of Ottawa s first RFP was published October 27, 2011 [XX11]. The report stated that a
private sector team began preliminary research for the expansion of the OLRT system in
September of 2010 following the approval of Federal and Provincial government funding before the
initial procurement process was issued. The project adopts a Design, Build, Finance, and
Maintenance (DBFM) model which allows multiple companies to place a bid on the RFP. With
many options the city is then open to make a choice the contract which will be reported on in the
upcoming (sections).

Following the RFP, the City of Ottawa must choose a contract for the post. The RFP outlines the the
procurement process and states that the purchase of construction services must be in accordance to

The Abolition Movement Essay
During Europe s Age of Enlightenment (1675 1800) new philosophies on human rights and liberties
were developed. The ideas of Locke and Descartes had a revolutionary influence on politics and
society; these new concepts fueled a growing debate about the role of women in public life. These
arguments would take seed in the new nation of America, and blossom into immense social and
political change in the following decades. During the nineteenth century, American women expanded
into more public spheres by aggressively leveraging new technology and social movements. With the
dawn of America s Industrial Revolution in the 1820s, the first urban factories emerged, providing
the first non domestic job opportunities for women. Some factories embraced... Show more content

During the early years of the Civil War, medical care for the troops was rudimentary, and
thousands of soldiers died from infections and disease in army hospitals. In response, the world s

Human Performance And Commercial Aircraft Accidents
Human error has been acknowledged as a main contributor to more than 70 percent of commercial
and private aircraft accidents. While characteristically connected with flight procedures, human error
has also recently become a main concern in maintenance practices and air traffic management.
Human factors specialists work with engineers, pilots, and mechanics to apply the latest information
about the interface between human performance and commercial aircraft to help operators develop
safety and efficiency in their daily operations.

About 80 percent of maintenance errors comprise of human factors, according to the Federal Aviation
Administration. The maintenance realm has exceptional human factors matters that are more severe
and longer lasting than elsewhere in aviation. Operators are considering numerous procedures to
combat human factors challenges.
Human factors are endless catchphrases in maintenance operations. Although human factors
maintenance training is not strictly required in the U.S., many U.S. maintenance organizations have
accepted it because they see regulation in the near future, want to conform to the regulations
elsewhere or merely accept the business example.
Why are human conditions, such as fatigue, complacency and distraction, so important? As one
expert put it, if you scratch the surface of a maintenance incident, you re likely to find human factors
concerns. About 80 percent of maintenance mistakes involve human factors, according to Bill
Johnson, the
Judicial Fairness In The Criminal Justice System
The foundation of the criminal justice system in the United States was founded on the idea of blind
fairness of justice for every person that is interacting with our system of justice (King, 2016). There
are many different layers to our criminal justice system from law enforcement, the judicial system, to
corrections that can be very intimidating from anyone that is not used to interacting with the system
as a person that has been criminally charged. This daunting element of our criminal justicesystem is
one that can lead any defendant feeling like they have been backed into a corner. In our court
system one key factor that has become standard practice is the use of plea bargains for criminal
defendants(Clatch, 2017). We see that the use of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Blind justice has taken a step back from the original form that it took in shaping our court system in
the United States due to the enhanced mandatory minimums and determinate sentencing acts that

2009). Placing more hardships on the minority that do not have the funds to put up the same fight as
the members of the majority group of our society. The injustice that this places on the minority

Man At The Crossroads
The Man at the Crossroads

Did Nelson do right in destroying Diego Rivera s mural The man at the crossroads ? The man at the
crossroads was located at the center of Rockefeller center in New York. He was right in destroying
Diego s mural because of several reasons. The first reason is that Rivera didn t achieve Nelson s
vision in how the mural would turn out. The second reason why Rockefeller was right in destroying
the painting was because it was too controversial. The last reason is that Nelson s reputation would
have been ruined by the mural. Overall Rockefeller was right in destroying Rivera s mural.

In addition, why Nelson was right about destroying Rivera s mural was that his vision wasn t

attempts to stop Adonis from meeting his fate before he died hunting a boar while his dogs eagerly

Titan also treated landscape to be mountainous, which reached towards the top of the figures head. In
the meantime Rueben went for flat plains to occupy the backgrounds. Both artists were successful in
equalizing the composition and manipulation in the negative space. Yet Venus s body had her back
turned away from the viewers in Rueben while Titan cause Venus s body to face the opposite way. ,
Rueben influence of style goes towards baroque with softer tones on the skin along with the softness
of the textures including the hunting dog s fur and trees. Titan s influence clings from mannerism
due to the elongated bodies with little focus of the background using dull colors. Titan use dull

SWOT and PEST analysis

In the previous objective, I analysed SWOT and PEST of Cadbury. These enabled me to gain insight
into the external and internal influences that may arise which may either be beneficial or cause
problems for the launch of my product.

Product life cycle

However, at this stage, there are many competitors with similar products and Cadbury must be
careful the products don t become saturated and then, like the fuse bar, be declined. My product
will be in the introduction stage of the product life cycle. I will expect sales to be slow because
there will be limited knowledge of the product, although Cadbury do have high customer loyalty.
The product will hopefully move into the growth stage where the sales will rise rapidly.

Extension strategies

There are various ways in which Cadburys can extend the life of a product. Changing one of the 4P
s is the method that is often chosen.
Promotion of the product would be the first to be changed to increase slow sales. Releasing a new
advertisement, for example, will often boost the sales, but other methods include aiming the same
product at a different area of the market. For example Cadburys may aiming a product initially
aimed at children for adults by producing larger bags. Cadburys may also try placing competitions
on the packaging of the product, as this will encourage people to buy the product.
Cadburys showed this technique early last year when they took Buttons, which was struggling and
brought out Giant Buttons, aimed at an older target audience. Dairy milk has also been used in
several ways to extend the life cycle. Dairy Milk offers chocolate from Buttons up to
2kg blocks to suit all occasions. There are also
