Number System

- a^n - b^n = (a - b)(a^{n-1} + a^{n-2}b + ... + b^{n-1})

- a^n + b^n = (a + b)(a^{n-1} - a^{n-2}b + ... + b^{n-1})

- HCF * LCM = Product of Two Numbers

- Remainder Theorem

Simplification & Surds

- sqrta * sqrtb = sqrt(ab)

- Rationalization: 1 / (a + sqrtb) = (a - sqrtb) / (a^2 - b)

Percentage

- % = (Part / Whole) * 100

- Net % change = x + y + (xy / 100)

Profit, Loss & Discount

- Profit = SP - CP; Loss = CP - SP

- Profit% = (Profit / CP) * 100

- MP = (SP * 100) / (100 - Discount%)

Simple & Compound Interest

- SI = (P * R * T) / 100

- CI = P(1 + R/100)^T - P

- CI - SI (2 years) = P * R^2 / 100^2

Time, Speed & Distance

- Speed = Distance / Time

- Relative Speed (same direction) = |S1 - S2|

- Time = Distance / Speed

Time & Work

- Work = Rate * Time

- A and B together = (AB) / (A + B)

- Efficiency = 1 / Time

Mensuration (2D & 3D)

- Square: Area = a^2, Perimeter = 4a

- Circle: Area = pir^2, Circumference = 2pir

- Cube: Volume = a^3, Surface Area = 6a^2

- Cylinder: Volume = pir^2h, TSA = 2pir(r+h)

Algebra

- (a + b)^2 = a^2 + 2ab + b^2

- (a - b)^2 = a^2 - 2ab + b^2

- a^2 - b^2 = (a + b)(a - b)

- (x + 1/x)^2 = x^2 + 1/x^2 + 2

Ratio & Proportion

- a/b = c/d => ad = bc

- Component and Dividend Rule: (a + b)/(a - b) = (c + d)/(c - d)

Average

- Average = Sum / Number of values

- New Avg = Old Avg (Change in Total / n)

Data Interpretation

- % change = (Difference / Original) * 100

- Check units (, %, lakhs etc.)
