1. INAUGRATION
Good things must start at some point, so we inaugurated NSS and YOUTH RED-CROSS WING on 25th
September from our beloved principal and director Dr. K G Vishwanath.
As a part of inauguration we felicitated our volunteers who helped people during flood, and registered new
batch of volunteers.

2. EVP AWARENESS
As order from Election Commission of India, we formed new club named as Electoral Literacy Club (ELC).
As a part of Elector Verification Program (EVP), A rally was conducted to aware the students of Jain college
of Engineering about verification of their voter ID’s. We also registered voter id for the eligible students.

NSS volunteers visited Hunchanatti village which is near to college on 20th November as a part of their
project, aim of this project was to promote “Ayushman Bharat Yojana” started by our beloved Prime Minister
Narendra Modi ji.
More than 70 to 80 homes of village people were visited and asked them to register for the above yojana
in governmenthospitals.

NSS volunteers visited Maheshwari School for blind, Nehru nagar, Belagavi on 14th November. On occasion
of children’s day. Organized games and entertaining events for blind students.
NSS volunteers entertained more than 50 blind students with singing songs and encouraging them by
speaking motivational words, by playing games.

We NSS volunteers organized the plantation drive at jain college on 14th June ,seed balls were sowed nearby
college surroundings and more than 15 plants were planted at JCE campus under guidance of Colonel sir .

NSS volunteers organized quiz competition on occasion of birth anniversary of Maulana Abul
kalam azad as this day celebrated in India as National Education Day.
Event was conducted on 11th November. More than 35 students of Jain college of
Engineering irrespective of their branch Participated in this event and made this event huge
successful.

Jain college of engineering, Belagavi organized a 7 Days special camp in college campus from 24th February
to 29th February 2020 in village of Hunchanhatti.
Day 1
The day was started by hoisting the NSS flag by the NSS Programme officier and Co-ordinator of Jain
College of Engineering, Belagavi, prof. Vinayak Nannoji and prof. Shraddha M. The flag hoisting ceremony
was organized by the all the NSS volunteers. A session on Yoga was organized, where in NSS volunteers
where taught basic yoga practices by one of the volunteer. Emphasis was given on the need of Yoga practice
and its merits.
The chief guest of the inaugural ceremony was Col. Melville D’Souza administrator at Jain College of
Engineering. You will get lifetime learning, he said. He told NSS volunteers " To work for nation is to work
for society" all patriots are social worker indeed, he said. The President of the inaugural ceremony was Dr.
K.G Vishwanath, Principal and Director of Jain College of Engineering, Belagavi. In his presidential remarks
he emphasized on the essence of performing our duties regardless of recognition and rewards, he believes that,
the satisfaction and happiness gained from performing our duties is far greater than the rewards. He stressed
on effectively utilizing the time and managing it appropriately to get most of the workdone.
The NSS volunteers registered to the NSS special camp. They were provided with essentials for the
Camp like Caps, NSS diary and Badges etc four teams were formed out of 60 candidates, with 15 candidates
in each team. Each team was named after Indian army regiment: garuda, sikh, Maratha, Naga regiments. Paper
bags were made by the volunteers to avoid use of plastic bags.

Day 2
The flag hoisting ceremony was carried out by Prof. A. P . Deshpande, Head of department of
Mathematics. The ceremony was organized by Garuda. The theme of the day was " Save girl child". Prof.
Deshpande, explained importance of social work, and shared some of inspiring stories with volunteers.
Some advanced yoga practices were taught by higher sem volunteer.
After the Yoga session, the NSS volunteers visited the keniye village for Shramadan. Various works
carried out in the village by NSS volunteers. One team collected plastic in the village, second team did survey
in the village, third team did awareness rally on plastic waste free India and also visited each house and made
awareness about Ayushman bharat yojana and other important plans of Indian Government, fourth team
conducted the home to home awareness regarding cleanliness, sanitation and voting, fifth team visited
primary school and conducted classes for students, conducted various competition, conducted self defence
classes also spent some quality of time in school.
CULTURAL:- Skit and Poster making competiton were held for the volunteers in afternoon session were all the
teams participated.

Day 3
The flag hoisting ceremony was organized by Maratha with the theme of National Science Day, Dr.
Manuprasad was the chief guest for the ceremony. Dr. Manuprasad explained the importance of social workin
life. The social work may or may not change the society but it surely changes the person who is doing the
work.
After yoga session, volunteers attended the rally on road safety organized by the electronic and communication
department of Jain College of Engineering the rally was conducted in campus. The main aim ofrally is to
convey all the bike riders to wear helmet, how important is the helmet and safety while riding, even the rally
conveyed a message that not to use mobile phone while driving.
SESSION:- INDAIN ARMY AND SURGICAL STRIKES: The session was delivered by Col. Melville D'Souza,
Administrator, Jain College of Engineering, Belagavi. A brief overview of Indian Army is given during
thesession.
The working nature and culture in the army is explained. The message of " We never leave our
brothers behind" is thoroughly briefed. The images of territories in the J & K are shown to students. The strikes
after URI incident and recent air strike are explained. He expressed his memories of army camps andthe gave
guidance to volunteers about How to join Indian Army.

Day 4
The flag hoisting ceremony was organized by Naga, prof Girish Uppin was the chief guest for the ceremony.
He explained the role of a NSS volunteer in society not only NSS volunteer but the role of each student in
developing their society,he explained. A yoga session was conducted were importance of yoga and exercise in
day to day life was explained by
Shramadhana was carried out at in the villages of Hunchantti and Peeranwadi, where in volunteers readily
participated in collecting plastic waste. More than 15Kg of plastic collected during the shramadan. The
volunteers in turn conducted awareness program in the villages regarding waste segregation and
sanitation.
SESSION:- FIRST AID and SNAKE HANDLING:- The session was addressed by prof. Vinayak Nannoji
NSS Programme officer at Jain College Of Engineering. He shared valuable information about snakes, the
images of different type of snakes were shown and also explained there characteristics. handling of snakes was
taught by him. He also shared his experience on catching of various snakes in and around Belagavi. First aid
training was given by him in this session.
CULTURAL:- solo dance and quiz were conducted for the volunteers in afternoon were all the
team participated and enjoyed.

Day 5
The flag hoisting ceremony was conducted by Sikh, Dr. Sirish Kerur was the chief guest of the
ceremony. While addressing the ceremony he explained the role of NSS in students life. He briefly
explained the motto of NSS i.e “NOT ME BUT YOU”. A yoga session was conducted by senior NSS
volunteer.
After yoga session, shramadan was conducted in and around Jain college of Engineering. Totally about
10kg of plastics waste was collected by the volunteers. One team conducted home-to-home awareness program
on plastic waste free india. the Rally for Environment is organized by rest teams. The rally was conducted in the
villages of Hunchanatti and Machhe.
Volunteers visited all the shops of near by village and distributed paper bags. And requested the
shopkeapers to reduce the use of plastic bags. Volunteers visited peeranwadi market and distributed paper
bags and taught them simple way of making paper bags in home and how one can build a business out of it.
CULTURAL:- mime and rangoli competiton were the cultural events organized on this day. Every
team participated in the competitions.

Day 6
The flag hoisting ceremony was conducted by all the teams. Prof. Shraddha M. NSS co-ordinator at Jain
College of Engineering, she shared her experience of being in camp also shared the memories of doing
social work.
Volunteers filled all the pathholes from Hunchanhatti cross to Jain College of Engineering. this was the
most difficult task conducted till date all the villagers appreciated the work one villager helped volunteers in
providing free water bottles. The construction of work was done as part of shramadan on that day.
SESSION:- volunteers visited Ramkrishna mission Ashram which is located in fort. In ashram they attended
interactive session by swamiji. The session was on the duty of individual on society. Swamiji also explained
the effect of meditation. And shared the beautiful story of swami Vivekananda.
CULTURAL:- group dance was conducted for the Volunteers . all teams were participated.

Day 7
The final day flag hoisting Ceremony was organized by volunteers. Chief guest for the
ceremony was prof. Vinayak Nannoji NSS programme officier at Jain college of
engineering. The social work may or may not changesociety but it changes characteristics
of the person doing social work, he said. We raise by lifting others was the motto, he
explained.
The chief guest of Valedictory program was Prof. Praveen Chitti Dean academics and
HOD of CSE at Jain College of Engineering. Prof. Praveen Chitti gave a brief idea of
NSS. The purpose of NSS annual camp is explained in detail, and shared some
motivational words with the volunteers. You will get lifetime learning, hesaid. The

Jain Collegeof Engineering, Belagavi. In his presidential remarks he emphasized on the

The day was started by hoisting the NSS flag by Prof. Vinayak Nannoji NSS
Programme Officer Jain College Of Engineering – Belagavi. The flag
hoisting was organized by all the NSS volunteers.
They Told that this camp will be a rewarding and enriching experience for
all of Volunteers. They encouraged Volunteers to make the most of the
opportunity and use it to develop their skills, knowledge, and understanding
of the world around you.
The Report Of the Overall works carried out by the NSS Unit was briefed in
the Gathering.
The NSS Volunteers registered to the NSS special camp were provided with
the essentials like caps, NSS Diary & Badges Etc. Four Teams were formed
out of 60 Candidates with 15 candidates in each team.
Each Time Were Given A Unique Name.
The Very First Day the NSS Unit conducted events such as Singing & Poster
Making .The Singing & Poster Making competition was open to all
participants of the camp, and there were several categories including solo
singing, duet singing, and group singing.
The judges had a tough time selecting the winners & in the poster making
competition the participants were asked to use their creativity and artistic
skills

to create posters that conveyed the importance of community service and the
role that young people play in building a better world.
DAY 2
The NSS Volunteers on the day were taken to the Ramakrishna Mission
Belagavi were they got various knowledge about swami Vivekananda and got
the various Knowledge by the saint.
After Returning from the camp the volunteers had an event of skit various
participants from all the teams participated in it making a huge success.

The NSS Volunteers later went on to the Nearby Yellur Village where they
Educated the people on the digital transactions and scams that are being taken
place now a days and the preventive measures taken to be safe from the
frauds.
The NSS Volunteers also visited the Govt. School Yellur Where they spent
valuable time with the children and educating them on the various
Mathematics tricks and for the lower grade children many number of games

This Day Many Events were conducted for the NSS volunteers such as Debate, Rangoli, D

In the debate event all the participants actively involved and put forward their
thoughts regarding the topic given and they also defended themselves very
well it was a tough decision for the Judges for giving the decision on the
winner team.
In the rangoli competition various participants from all the teams participated
in the competition and showed their artistic and creative skills and all the
rangoli were of the best and made the judges think a lot on the decision of the
winners.

DAY 5
The flag Hoisting Ceremony was carried out by the NSS Volunteers.
The students were taken to the commando training center which is located at
Belagavi. Where the students learnt about the various training which the
commandos has to undergo and later on the students were taken to the snake
handling were they learnt about how to handle the poisonous snakes and also
the learnt the first aid method to treat the victim and they were also taught
how to eat the snakes under critical position where there is shortage of food.
Later on returning to the campus the students were having the events such as
Mime where they showcased their extraordinary talents.

DAY 6
The flag Hoisting Ceremony was carried out by the NSS Volunteers.
The NSS Volunteers as part of special camp organized “JCE CLEAN &
CAMPUS” in which they cleaned the entire campus of the college and
spread awareness on the cleanliness and all the volunteers worked and at
the end of the day the campus was totally cleaned.

The Day was celebrated as Ethnic Day on this day the volunteers had to wear
the traditional dresses and the certificated was awarded to all the winning
participants during the camp and the Leaders for the Year For NSS Unit
