Reflective Essay On Becoming A Teacher
I never wanted to be the line leader in Kindergarten. I was happy with following everyone else. All
throughout growing up I would do whatever my friends did. We played the same sports, joined
the same clubs, had the same classes, and even wore the same clothes. Even though I was content
with being a follower and doing what everyone else was doing, I knew something was missing. I
wanted to be my own person and I had so many ideas and thoughts to share, yet no one wanted to
hear them from someone who wasn t loud and outgoing. As I entered my teen years I wanted
people to hear me, so I made it my goal to give myself a voice and become the leader rather than the
follower. Learninghow to lead others helped create many opportunities for me and I finally found
what was missing in my life. My ideas were finally heard and used, and I could not be more pleased.
I grew into a strong, creative, and hard working woman.

Learning how to become a leader was grueling. It didn t happen overnight like I had hoped. There
were many steps I had to take like learning how to open myself up to people. I was always a simple
person who never shared how they felt with people. I needed to learn how to open up to people
more, so I started being honest when someone would ask how I was doing. I also started telling
people about the good and bad things that happened to me like the good grade I got on a hard test,
or how I slipped and fell in front of an enormous crowd of people. Sharing little things
How Globalization And Technology Changes Have Impacted The...
1. Assess how globalization and technology changes have impacted the corporation you
researched.Nike, Inc., is one of the leading designer s, marketer and distributor of athletic
footwear, apparel, equipment and accessories for a variety of sports and fitness activities. The
company s headquarters is near Beaverton, Oregon founded by Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight,
who set out to reinvent athletic footwear. They wanted to improve upon one pair of running shoes
called Onitsuka Tiger. Nike were more than distributors; they joined forces to design ideas and
create better footwear (Vogel Garcia, 2012). The beginning of Nike s innovation stirred up a creative
vision for a company with more than globalization and technology. The company decided to embed
sustainability with financeand product teams taking a greater role in the development process. Later,
labor practices in factories were emplaced so that potential vulnerabilities from outside competition
is detected. The business reorganized to align more closely with the consumer s ideas. This lead to
the Code of Conduct becoming an important part of the innovations and technology Nike would use
to cross international borders. While the corporate responsibility committee was formed to manage
the supply chain and operational guidelines. The committee set long term environmental goals, and
jointly published the findings of worker surveys with the Global Alliance (Vogel Garcia, 2012).
Nike s journey was to maintain the
Why Did Britain Enter Ww1
Britain on the eve of its entry into the First World War. Two leading daily newspapers, The Times
and the Manchester Guardian both published news on the war crisis on 4 August 1914, and present
very contrasting positions on Britain s situation. The coverage in The Times encourages the
involvement of England in the war, placing emphasis on their obligation to remain the greatest
nation. Whereas the Manchester Guardian is primarily aimed at coaxing readers away from the
idea of war, discouraging those who believe that Britain should get involved. The papers report
much of the same news, but many of these stories are written to benefit the stance their paper takes
on the war. To begin, the focus of The Times, is Britain s preparation to enter the war, as well as the
obligation felt by many to join the war effort. As described in one of the articles it was as if war
fever had begun. Much of the coverage in the paper was dedicated to national war coverage. Most
of this is focused around the neutrality of Belgium and what German infiltration will mean for
France. Most articles place emphasis on the obligation to assist Belgium, that it is their duty to
protect its borders. In regards to the infiltration of the French lines, many believe that Britain must at
the very least offer assistance from the sea. In an editorial... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As well as The Times which moves to instill a sense of nationalism, aimed at creating a movement
towards entering the war. It can be seen how the bias presented in each other the papers changes
how to news it reports is portrayed. The Times and the Manchester Guardian each report much of the
same information, but their conflicting positions on the war alter how this information will be
received to the reader. Thus, making it increasingly more simple to understand why war opinions
varied so greatly within

Venezuela
Venezuela is a country located on the northern coast of South America. It borders Guyana to the
east, Brazil to the south and Colombia to the west ( Basic Facts on Venezuela ). It is interesting to
see how a country that was once rich and had a strong government can end up caught in an
economic crisis. Then, this may result in violence and chaos in the country. The worst part is that a
crisis in one country can produce shocks all over the world.
Government:
Venezuela is considered a federal republic. It has five different branches of government; the
executive, legislative, judiciary, electoral and citizen. Like in the United States, the president of
Venezuela is the head of the executive branch. Although both America and Venezuela elect their
president by popular vote, there is one big difference. The 22nd Amendment of the American
Constitution sets a clear, two term limit. On the other hand, President Hugo Chavez won a
constitutional referendum to eliminate term limits. Due to this change, he was able to remain in
power from 1999 to 2013. When former President Hugo Chavez died, Nicolas Maduro took his
place as the president.
The legislative branch is composed of the Unicameral National Assembly ( Basic Facts on
Venezuela ). The members are elected by popular vote to serve 5 year terms. The current president
of the National Assembly is Henry Ramos Allup. The
Lekythos Essays
The Lekythos

A lekythos is an ancient Greek vase made of ceramic; the plural of lekythos is lekythoi (Reference
#2). It has a narrow neck, single handle, and is tall with a small, deep mouth (Reference #7). The
lekythos was used as a flask, used to hold olive oil and perfumes (Reference #1), and were
developed in ancient Athens during the fifth century. In Classical Athens, lekythoi were painted in
white ground with figurative scenes. White ground is a form of art used by Athenians in which they
created the vase, fired it, and then the lekythos was painted in white. The figures and scenes were
then painted on top of the white ground. This method meant that the paintings did not last as well,
but were very beautiful in their original ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Secondly, some lekythoi were filled with scented oils and perfumes and placed around the body,
while others were set along the approach to the grave or placed beside the tomb (Reference #5).
This was done as a part of the religious focus of the burial ceremony, and was given as an offering.
Lastly, a lekythos would often be brought to the gravesite or tomb of the deceased after the burial.
It was very important to ancient Greeks to visit the gravesite of loved ones quite often, and when
they visited, they would bring offerings to the deceased such as fruit, a feast, or a lekythos filled
with olive oil or perfume (Reference #6).
In time, the Lekythos was developed into a much larger version of itself, being called Huge
Lekythoi . These were often left on top of a grave, or beside a tomb opening, almost as an ancient
grave marker (Reference #7). Though they would not be inscribed with any words or the name of
the deceased, they would have a painted scene depicting the deceased, some scene from their life,
or a scene depicting a sport or activity the deceased greatly enjoyed. Many lekythoi have been
recovered and are currently housed in museums all over the world. Though many are not in their
original glory, most have been reconstructed. New lekythoi have been made in Greece and are still
used today in some small Greek communities during the preparation of the body, and left by
The Similarities Between The Treatment Of Hannibal And New...
The treatment of Saguntum by Hannibal and the treatment of New Carthage and the slave girl were
very different, yet there were a few similarities. Scipio treated New Carthage and the slave girl with
respect, kindness, and decency after he capture them. After Hannibal captured Saguntum, Hannibal
was barbaric and cruel to its inhabitants. Scipio and Hannibal would have been shocked at each other
s actions and would not have understood why they acted in that way.
One of the only similarities between the treatment of Saguntum and New Carthage was that both
towns were looted. After Hannibal occupied Saguntum, he seized everything that he could find.
After Scipio captured New Carthage, he took the gold and silver, but let the inhabitants keep their ...

Hannibal first intended exile the people from their city with nothing but what they could carry, but
after some of the senators started burning their wealth, he changed his mind. Once the senators
burnt their wealth Hannibal ordered that all of the men be killed, and the women and children be
carried off. Scipio, on the contrary, did not kill any of the citizens once Mago surrendered. Scipio
did take the wealth, but he allowed the residents to keep their city and possessions. The Artisans in
the city were made Roman citizens, and the ships, slaves, and people who weren t Carthaginian
citizens were added to the Roman fleet.
One of the prisoners was a slave girl, and Scipio dealt with her in a unique way. The girl parents
came to Scipio to beg that she be released because she was very beautiful and betrothed to a
Celtiberian chieftain. Although the girl s parents offered Scipio ransom, he declined. However,
since the parents insisted, he took the money and gave it to them as a wedding present. The only
thing that Scipio asked for in return for his generosity was that the girl and her fiancé become

Are Native Americans Treated Like Normal Citizens
Have you ever wondered if Native Americans are treated like normal citizens? Unlike other
minority groups, Indians have a special legal status. They have programs that help them
economically. Also some tribes make a lot of money on Native American gaming. They also make
some money from letting Mexican drug trafficking organizations grow marijuana in their
reservations. Arguably Native American have quite some help that the different programs provide
them. They have programs like the U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs, that takes care of there well
being, the Indian Health Service provides free health care, and other programs that are designed
specifically to aid them. Also Indians have optional programs that they can sign in for free. For

Treaty of Waitangi
TREATY OF WAITANGI
The Treaty of Waitangi is an agreement between the British Crown and the Maori people. The
Treaty of Waitangi was signed on the sixth of February 1840 by 43 Northland chiefs and Lieutenant
Governor Hobson. The Treaty recognized Maori people occupied New Zealand prior to British. The
Treaty of Waitangi allowed the Crown to set up a government to establish laws, and recognised that
Māori people owned their lands and other properties. The immigrants (British citizens) could come
and live here in peace. Meanwhile, Maori gained the some rights as British citizens. At the signing of
the treaty got around constraints in both British and Maori , but in a large number of immigrants on
the demand for land and under the pressure ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Essentially the Treaty was an attempt to establish a system of property rights for land with the
Crown controlling and overseeing land sale, to prevent abuse.
Initially this worked well. Māori were eager to sell land, and settlers eager to buy. The Crown
mediated the process to ensure that the true owners were properly identified (difficult for tribally
owned land) and fairly compensated, by the standards of the time. However after a while Māori
became disillusioned and less willing to
My Mom s Thanksgiving Dinner
My family, they are big eaters. They eat if they are sad, happy, celebrating, or whatever the
occasion or mood swing may be. They enjoy spending time together and one thing that is always
in the center, of our gatherings, is food. My favorite meal, I would have to say, is my mom s
Green Bean Casserole, for Thanksgiving dinner. My mom s Thanksgiving Green Bean Casserole
is prepared with love, taste like perfection, and is enjoyed in a fun and crazy atmosphere. My mom
is a great cook. She has always loved cookinganything but the best thing she cooks is Green Bean
Casserole, for Thanksgiving dinner. She always prepares it with so much love for us to enjoy. She
begins by slow cooking the beans for two hours. They are hard at first but through
A Interview At An Interview
Shortly after the submission of my application, I received an email inviting me to the interview that
would be conducted in company s office in London. Overall, in my opinion, I did my best in terms
of the preparation. I researched the company s history, read about its most popular products and
familiarized myself with the recent industry and company s news (Burke and Thurgood 2007). A
week prior to the interviewdate I attended an interview preparation session organized by the
Careers Office which, as noted by Spears (1979), was supposed to help me feel more comfortable
during the actual interview. As a result, I had, what Bandura (1982) would call a high level of self
efficacy, meaning that I hold an opinion that I would succeed in an interview.
Turning attention to the actual interview, it was conducted face to face on company s premises
and my interviewer was a middle aged white woman. From the first seconds of the interview she
had an open body language and she maintained a good eye contact. Armstrong (2012) indicates
that such behaviour helps to establish the good rapport with the applicant and it was certainly true
in my case. It was a structured employment interview as I was asked a set of prepared questions
(Levashina et al. 2014) that explored if I possessed skills and competencies required for the job
position. As the interviewer followed the script, it led to the consistency in information received,
implying more accurate selection decision (Garcia et al. 2008).
Glorification Of Anti-Intellectualism
Draw down with that Glock, b*tch don t make no/ sound/ Say somethin and get shot, b*tch face
down to/ the ground/ I ain t got no respect, you might think I m dumb/ I m just 17 with a whole
lotta money/ I ain t got no education, I dropped out of school. The following lyrics come from 17
year old, Baton Rouge rapper, NBA YoungBoy. As he has embarked on his journey to sudden
stardom, a strong fanbase of adolescent black youth continue to support his promotion of violence,
vulgar language, and most importantly his glorification of anti intellectualism. Anti intellectualism
is defined as opposing or hostile to intellectuals or to an intellectual view or approach, by Meriam
Webster dictionary. Within the black community the glorification of anti intellectualism is all too
common and rappers such as NBA YoungBoy are not solely to responsible for this plague. When
the first African slaves arrived at Jamestown in 1619 a group of people would be robbed of not
only their culture, family, language, but their opportunity to have knowledge and education. Slaves
were robbed of common intellectual activities and often left uneducated, illiterate, and dependent on
their masters. Slave masters were able to maintain this dependency as they did not allow slaves to
seek education. Due to the slaves limited intellectual ability slave masters were able to manipulate
and therefore control their slaves. This same method of control can be seen in today s Black

Essay on The Guns of August by Barbara Tuchman
The Guns of August by Barbara Tuchman

Barbara Tuchman s Guns of August is about World War 1. Her book has a unique way of telling
this story. Her books gives explanations for each country s involvement in the war. It describes
the opinions of the Czar and reasons for all of his crucial decisions during this time. It also
explains how Germany was in a tight spot and prepared for war a few years before it actually
began. England was not to worried about the war in Europe because it had it s own problems. The
English people didn t think it was necessary for them to enter the war.
However England got involved to try to protect the weak country of Belgium being attacked by
Germany. Germany was in a very difficult position ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
France slightly believed this myth. They formed an alliance with Russia because in part of this
myth and also because it was better for two to face off with Germany than France alone. I like
this book very much because it goes into great detail. She explains vividly the events occurring
that were crucial in deciding the outcome of the war. She also writes in story form just like her
other books, and it s always easier to read a story that study a text book. My favorite thing about
this book was that makes the war seem like a story I ve never read, even though most people know
the major events of the war. Her style of writing keeps you guessing what s next.
