Code Review

The pull request successfully introduces several new parameters to the DropdownMenuFormField widget, allowing for greater customization by passing these parameters directly to the underlying DropdownMenu. This enhances the flexibility and feature parity of DropdownMenuFormField with DropdownMenu. The accompanying tests adequately cover the new functionality, ensuring correctness. However, the newly added public parameters in DropdownMenuFormField lack documentation, which is crucial for API clarity and maintainability.

This new public parameter should have a doc comment explaining its purpose. It's good practice to document all public API members for clarity and maintainability. Leveraging a {@macro} reference to the DropdownMenu.showTrailingIcon documentation would be ideal here.

The other values also don't have a doc comment. Is that desired?

No need to add api doc in the constructor.

EDIT: I'm responding to the AI reviewer:)

To fix the failed tests, run dart format packages/flutter/test/material/dropdown_menu_form_field_test.dart

DropdownMenu<MenuItem> dropdownMenu = tester.widget(find.byType(DropdownMenu<MenuItem>));
expect(dropdownMenu.menuController, null);

final menuController = MenuController();

Suggested change
final menuController = MenuController();
final menuController = MenuController();
addTearDown(controller.dispose);

Adding this should fix Windows framework_tests_libraries_leak_tracking test.

dispose doesn't exist for the MenuController, but also wasn't needed in another test:

final menuController = MenuController();

Unfortunately I cannot really determine the source of the leak: https://logs.chromium.org/logs/flutter/buildbucket/cr-buildbucket/8691425684455031713/+/u/run_test.dart_for_framework_tests_shard_and_subshard_libraries/stdout?format=raw

I found the source of the error. As proposal: It may would be useful to have just the std_err available, to not need going through all the log and also have it as summary, instead of the std_out. But maybe that's dependent on LUCI.

@QuncCccccc thank you for the time you spent for investigation. Not sure how to determine the source of the leak test, though.
